Day 113: In which I change my folder icons to little monsters.

Unfortunately, that is the most productive thing I’ve done tonight. Priorities, you know?

In other news, I went to two review sessions today. But that’s also lame. Finals suck. It seems like they’re soooo far away. I mean, it’s Friday and my first final is Tuesday. Tuesday is like next month to me. (Don’t worry, Mom, I’ll do homework tomorrow.)

Most importantly, though — I got published! Again! HerCampus let me write for them again: http://goo.gl/0BVo4 . Awesome, right? I’m really pumped. Read it!

Meanwhile, I’m constantly thinking of things I want to do over winter break:

  • make fudge
  • make Christmas cookies
  • make lasagna
  • read Mockingjay
  • go to Universal (with family? with Simon? with both?)
  • sleep

Well, I mean, there’s a lot more stuff, but that’s just the beginning of the list.

Day 113: Progress on Simon’s Christmas present has been halted and I am not happy about it. :|

Days 111 and 112: In which Urban Meyer resigns and THE CUBE is constructed!

I’ve taken a few pictures over the past three days, and instead of blogging I will show them to you:

This is the very delicious to-go lunch I got from the dining hall on Tuesday when I was writing my paper for long amounts of time. It is garlic bread, custom pasta (chicken, broccoli, and parmesan), and french fries. Inside the coffee cup there is orange Jello, which I ate by sucking through my teeth not unlike a first grader. Please note that my paper is not on the screen; Reddit is.

This is Ruchi and I’s first time trying POKEY STIX. Pokey stix (spelled that way) are the specialty of (and rumored to be the only good thing at) our local cheap pizza place, Gumby’s. Tuesday night, we both had a ton of work to do and also mutually decided that it was much too cold to venture outside and walk to the dining hall. We decided to order in (our first time! Cutest roommates ever) a pizza and pokey stix. The pizza was less-than-stellar, but the pokey stix (that is, pizza dough with butter, olive oil, cheese, and garlic) were (obviously) delicious. We learned that Tuesdays are buy one get one pokey stix nights, and we plan to make good use of this information in the spring semester.

This is, of course, the construction of THE CUBE, which took place from 10-11am this morning. Afterwards, we ate pizza. It was glorious, and there are plans to burn it after its stay in the lobby of Marston Science Library. Look on for more pictures:

And then, we finished it!

Yes, my eyes are closed. :|

I’m getting ready to end this post but I want to show you one more thing:

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! I love Christmas music.

Days 111 and 112: Productive. Now time for the second reading day.

December 7, 2010

Day 110: In which I go to class in 29-degree weather dressed as a ladybug.

… and then I walked all over campus, in 29-degree weather, dressed as a ladybug.

Guys, I (seriously) plan to blog more later, but now I (really) need to do my paper. Like seriously. I have a schedule though, so it’s cool. Right?

Quick note: The dining hall brought back real bacon today.

BUT something more momentous than that has happened (I know, it’s hard to fathom something more awesome)… I got published! Again! In print (which is a big deal because I haven’t been published in print since May at The Rampage)! I worked on this article all weekend (instead of doing my paper).

Check the link here: http://goo.gl/PKjUQ, or just look below for a picture of my PUBLISHED story on Grooveshark University:

Ahh!

Day 110: Not even halfway over but I skipped a class, turned in an origami project, spent a few hours in a ladybug costume, and consumed a lot of bacon.

Day 109: In which I take two exams.

Today was rough. I had two exams — my Journalism final and a math test that could count as my final grade. Also worth noting is the fact that it is FREEZING! It is currently 33 degrees outside my dorm right now. O. M. G. I just walked back from Norman (aka far away) and my face is still defrosting.

I’m pretty tired from today’s events, so here are some pictures of the cookies my group (but mostly my grandma! Thanks Oma!) made for our project tomorrow. Nom nom nom:

Day 109: I’m beat. Tonight: Gossip Girl. Tomorrow: finish my paper.

December 4, 2010

Days 106, 107, and 108: In which I catch some major Zs, see The Other Guys, and do a lot of homework, respectively.

If I get through these next two weeks, I deserve a medal. No kidding.

Let me show you what’s going on in pictures (because I don’t have time to write!). Hume West 152 is study central (also, Christmas music central. But I’m trying to be negative here):

(Don’t ask why I was calculating something that large… I don’t remember. Also, I didn’t realize that my clock was on the wrong time zone. AAAHHH)

So yeah. I’m getting ready to go spend the rest of the day at the library with Simon.

Days 105-108: just a small taste of next week’s five-day-long debacle!

December 2, 2010

Days 104 and 105: In which it is hot and cold, respectively.

I’m really tired and all snuggled up in my bed right now so this post won’t be long or eloquent. Just a few quick thoughts:

  • Tomorrow my 8:30am class is canceled, so I’ll be sleeping in until my math class at 12:50.
  • Today started DECEMBER!!!!!! I love December. I love Christmas. I love cold weather.
  • I’m pumped and intrigued by NASA’s press conference scheduled for tomorrow. You should read this article to get some info on it (TL;DR: “It means that life began not just once but at least twice on Earth.” lolwut?). Although I can’t watch it live, I’ll be researching it all afternoon.
  • I missed Glee yesterday but heard about the breakup because I can’t not check Twitter.
  • I wrote an entire page of my paper today!
  • Also, I watched 1.7 Gossip Girl episodes.
  • And had some peppermint hot chocolate from Starbucks.

Happy December!

Day 105: Feelin’ like December and jammin’ to Christmas songs. Aw yeah.
